Seniors at FBLex that we call OWLS are exciting, vibrant, and adventurous. As we follow God, we not only study his Word but are active in living out His message. We are a community that loves each other and fosters friendships that last last through the ages.

SPRING TIME IN SUMTER….
Thursday, April 25th meet at FBLex 8:30am return approx. 5pm (Cost $15, biscuit stop and lunch dutch treat)
Join us as we travel to Sumter aka “Gamecock City” home of Thomas Sumter, “Fighting Gamecock” of the American Revolutionary War.
Swan Lake Iris Gardens, the only public park in the US to feature all eight swan species and home to one of the nation’s most intensive plantings of Japanese Iris plantings. We will be greeted by a volunteer tour guide who will give us an overview of the park, we will have time to enjoy the beautiful grounds.
Lunch at J Grady’s a local pub offering, burgers, fish, and salads. Beautiful weather on the calendar we will enjoy lunch on the outside patio.
Sumter County Museum and Temple Sinai Jewish History Center, we will start in the Jewish History Center where we will explore the history of the Holocaust and Sumter’s connections to survivors and its community. Spending time in the newly developed exhibit hall, then marvel at the historic stained glass windows and beautiful architectural features of the temple’s sanctuary. There will be time given to explore the historical education center and/or Carolina Backcountry Homestead.
A visit to the Low Country… Wadmalaw Island & Johns Island
TUESDAY, MAY 14TH meet at Fblex at 8am return approx. 6pm (Cost $25, lunch is dutch treat)
Join us as we travel to the low country and see some of must see adventures!
The Charleston Tea Plantation, the only tea plantation in North America where you will see thousands of tea bushes stretching acres and acres. We will enjoy a Trolley Tour of the plantation, learning more about the plantation, a stop at a greenhouse an up close and personal experience. A tour of the tea factory of the only American Grown Tea with a sip and stop at their gift shop.
Lunch at at Krazy Owls located on Johns Island, how can we pass a local resturant with OWL salad, Owlfredo, Owl Toes, Owl Wings and BLT’s on the menu!! A fun place to eat, relax and have fun!
The Angel Oak a must see! Thought to be the oldest living thing in the country estimated to be in excess of 400-500 years old. The many large branches that form an amazing canopy are must see!
