The Gilberts are heavily involved in Crisis Response, and they are also on the Missionary Care Team of ReachGlobal. They train new missionaries, support current missionaries spiritually and emotionally, aid in building teamwork on the missions field, and debrief missionaries coming off the field.

They visit Japan when they can and check up on the ministries in Tokyo, Ishinomaki, and Onagawa, coaching and mentoring national leaders to do the work.
