Homeless Guy

Looking out my front window at work, I notice a man sitting on the curb carrying a garbage bag and smoking a cigarette.

Not exactly what ya want parked in front of your place of business, but there he was. In the past I probably would have thought, oh geez, please don't stay long. But today the 1st thing to come to mind was Who Cares. Okay, do I care or do I continue to hope he moves along? I have been looking for a Who Cares opportunity for weeks and here it was. So I grab a bottle of water and walk out front. He sees me coming and ya could tell by the look on his face he was thinking, here we go again. I ask him if he was okay and he replied yes. I offered him the water and he says, I don't want no water. Well, sorry dude but this is my Who Cares moment and your not gonna spoil it for me so I say, how about a Coke or Pepsi. Yeah, that would be good. I ask him if he is hungry. He says he is. So I say stay here and I'll get ya something. So 10 minutes later I take him some sandwiches, a drink, and a bag full of other items that will not go bad on him. He thanked me and ask what he could give me in exchange. Oh I was so tempted to look in that garbage bag but I passed. We talked for a few minutes. He was obviously homeless and had mental issues of some sort. And then he was gone. I hope what little effort I made helps him as much as I am sure it will help me.
