A young lady was visiting with us and upon attempting to leave, her car wouldn't crank.
We cleaned the battery post and retightened the leads and the car cranked. To be sure, we shut it off and asked her to crank it again. It wouldn't crank. As as we worked we noticed that the battery appeared old and may need replacing.
After more work it cranked again and she drove to a local parts place for a evaluation. Upon inspection they agreed that it indeed needed replacement, but told her it looked like a battery sold by their competitors next door. They recommended she go next door and they might prorate the usage and give her a discount on a new one.
She did this and saved $35.00 due to the honesty of the first distributor. She called and told me everything was ok and how it had worked out.
Later that day I went by their business and thanked them for their honesty and integrity and what they had done for the young lady.
I gave them a "Who Cares" card and explained the purpose behind it. They were appreciative of that.
