Missions at FBC
We believe that the church exists to make Christ known both within and beyond our own community! The purpose of the missions program at FBC is to facilitate a growing awareness of God's work around the world and to further His Kingdom through financial support, prayers, and personal involvement. We do so by the following means:
Financial & Prayer Support
*FBC supports 23 missionaries and their families around the world.
*We support Faith Home, a Christ-based drug and alcohol rehabilitation program in Greenwood, SC.
*We are developing a recovery house program, Crosswalk Connection, to help people who come out of rehab.
*We support 2 national couples who assist our missionaries in Romania and in Costa Rica.
*Our church members sponsor 200 children at a MANNA feeding center in Mae Sot, Thailand.
Annual Mission Trips
*We send adult teams to visit & encourage our missionaries in various parts of the world.
*We help encourage our own members who choose to go on summer trips as individuals or families.
*Our youth are involved in mission projects locally and overseas.
The Manna Project
MANNA is a program that helps meet the physical and spiritual needs of children around the world. We have adopted a group of 200 children in Mae Sot, Thailand. These children are Burmese refugees and are unable to attend Thai schools and their families cannot seek gainful employment in Thailand. By supporting these children, we partner with a Burmese pastor in Mae Sot who helps us provide food, education, spiritual guidance, and hope for the future! A child can be supported at $20 per month through designated gifts through the First Baptist missions program.
Ambassadors Life Group
The Ambassadors is a life group at First Baptist that seeks to help promote missions at FBC and to assist in planning special mission conferences and mission Sundays throughout the year. For more information on the Ambassadors, contact Bennett Schiller.
