The Gilberts are heavily involved in Crisis Response, and they are also on the Missionary Care Team of Reach Global. They continue to check up on the ministry in Ishinomaki and Onagawa, coaching and mentoring national leaders to do the work. They visit Japan when they can and hold regular online meetings. When they are not in Japan or working with the people there, they work with the training of other new missionaries through online and onsite training events, and the debriefing and encouraging of returning missionaries. They are currently traveling in the USA to provide disaster relief to different states, and also provide oversight and pastoral care to the Crisis Response team working in eastern Kentucky and with Ukrainian refugees.
